Biography

Having collected art for over 20 years, Monograph founder Sean Nicolson has a keen eye for what’s good in the art world and which works to invest in. A corporate partner at one of the UK’s leading law firms, Sean finds the time to pursue his interest in art which is his passion.

He is company secretary of Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art (which hosted the Turner prize in 2011) and was also a founder trustee of the friends charity that supports mima, Middlesbrough’s acclaimed modern art gallery. Having previously founded and run a commercial gallery, Sean formed Monograph to pursue his interest in working directly with artists to publish limited edition artworks.

“My vision for Monograph is for it to become one of the leading publishers of limited editions by up and coming as well as established artists. We want to offer a range of artworks for first time buyers as well as experienced collectors.”
