Jamie Hewlett

Jamie Hewlett’s artwork has been a staple of graphic culture for two decades. He created Tank Girl, an anarchic comic strip about a teenage punk girl who drove a tank and had a mutant kangaroo for a boyfriend which proved instantly popular. He began working for bands including Senseless Things and Cud, creating covers for record releases and illustrated a comic strip for Pulp’s Common People. He collaborated with Blur’s Damon Albarn to create virtual group Gorillaz, and in May 2006 was awarded the Designer of The Year Award by London’s Design Museum.
