William Wegman
William Wegman became interested in photography whilst teaching art in California. It was around this time that he got his first dog, Man Ray, and they began a long and fruitful collaboration. Man Ray was named Man of the Year by the Village Voice in 1982. Meanwhile Wegman was awarded a Guggenheim fellowship in 1975 and 1986. He also received a National Endowment for the Arts in 1982 and a New York Foundation for the Arts honour in 1987. His work is in many private and public collections, including The Whitney Museum, New York and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
