Very Loo-py Creation

Each artist does their thing a little differently and the beauty of art is always in the eye of the beholder, but Turkish artist Sakir Gökçebağ has created very unique installations that can only be described as loo-py! The Turkish artist’s alternative form of artwork comprises hundreds of toilet rolls creating award-winning sculptures that can really capture any observer’s imagination. The big, flowing monuments are either hung elegantly from huge pedestals or carefully arranged to create giant wall decorations. Inspired by the desire to make ‘normal things beautiful’, Gökçebağ is not one for conventional art forms. He shot to fame for previously exhibiting broken umbrellas, coat hangers and old brooms thanks to his adventurous assignment of ‘finding the poetry in everyday’. The prize-winning artist is currently preparing for a solo exhibition being held in Berlin where he will display his ‘everyday art’, inspired from the unique ‘restroom’ location!
